A Study of Self-Emancipation:
Poetry Workshop with Authoring Action!
Friday March 31 / 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
$40 Members / $50 public
Inspired by "Ona Judge Escapes" (2021) in Stephen Towns: Declaration & Resistance, workshop attendees will explore the theme of self-emancipation from past to present. Participants will gain transformative personal insight through reflection, conversation, and writing. Guests are encouraged to read Never Caught: The Washingtons' Relentless Pursuit of Their Runaway Slave, Ona Judge but it's not required. At the conclusion of the workshop attendees will have an original work of poetry. Price includes a boxed lunch.

In collaboration with the Delta Arts center and Owens Daniels our Authors were tasked to write to pictures taken by Owens Daniels for his exhibit “Poetic Justice” and engage during the opening for the exhibit.
UNC-TV
2017
Public television station, UNC-TV asked Authoring Action authors to write character narratives for their 2017 Kindness Campaign.
The characters were used during children's programming to support anti-bullying.
